Brand Guidelines

Happy Helpers is a unique community-led service designed to connect home owners in North Norfolk with trusted local support for everyday tasks. The founder behind Happy Helpers needed a simple, easy-to-use website to help launch the business, making the digital experience the key deliverable for the project, alongside the development of a unique visual identity for the brand.

The Insight

Many service-based platforms feel overly corporate, transactional or difficult to navigate, creating a disconnect between users and the people they are inviting into their homes. Happy Helpers needed to challenge this by creating a brand experience that felt approachable, trustworthy and genuinely community-led. The opportunity lay in humanising everyday support through a visual identity that felt full of personality. Research into local community culture and accessible digital experiences informed the creative direction - helping shape a brand that feels less like a dull transactional service and more like a trusted helping hand!

The Direction

The identity combines playful hand-drawn illustrations, sophisticated but friendly typography and an uplifting colour palette to create a brand that feels approachable, memorable and easy to engage with. The digital experience became the centrepiece of the project, with a strong focus on simplicity and trust-building. Clean layouts, intuitive navigation and friendly visual cues help users quickly connect with the support they need, while the expressive brand system gives Happy Helpers a distinctive personality within a crowded marketplace.

A Dynamic Logo Suite

The logo suite has been designed as a flexible system, ensuring the brand can be applied consistently across a wide range of applications. These variations allow the identity to remain clear, recognisable, and effective across both digital and physical touchpoints.

Two Audience Profiles

A considered colour system helps distinguish between Happy Helpers two core audiences - homeowners and helpers - creating a clearer and more intuitive experience. Green represents the helper community and serves as the primary brand colour, while pink can be used to highlight homeowner-focused messaging. Applied flexibly, these colour cues support navigation while maintaining a cohesive brand experience.

The hub of Happy Helpers

The website is designed to clearly communicate the platform’s core purpose: connecting North Norfolk homeowners with trusted local helpers. The homepage introduces the service, builds trust through place and community, and guides users quickly towards two key actions - requestng a job as an owner, or joining the team to become a helper.

Custom Ilustrations

Custom illustrations bring the services and local setting to life. These icons introduce a unique personality to the brand while visually representing the different tasks and services available across digital and print. They support content and enhance communication to the overall experience without overwhelming it.

The role of Colour & Type

Inspired by the North Norfolk coastline, the palette draws from sea, sand and sunsets to create a vibrant and recognisable identity. Paired with the primary type face, Quincy CF, the visual language balances playful personality with a sense of sophistication.

Kind words from the founder

I honestly cannot recommend Ellie highly enough! When I first approached her, Happy Helpers was little more than an idea on paper. I had a vision for what I wanted to create, but Ellie completely brought it to life and helped turn that idea into the functional, professional business it is today.

What I’ve loved most about working with Ellie is her ability to take what can sometimes be a vague idea in my head and turn it into something real, polished and better than I could have imagined! She has been creative, patient, professional and an absolute pleasure to work with throughout.

I genuinely feel that Happy Helpers wouldn’t be where it is today without Ellie’s creativity, expertise and ability to bring the whole brand together. If you’re looking for someone to help bring your business or idea to life, I cannot recommend her enough.
